Children International - This is the charity I've been sponsoring a child through since 2002. I chose to sponsor through Children International because I was short on cash at the time and this organization had the lowest monthly payment to sponsor. I'm not sure if it is still the cheapest, but I'm pleased with what I've been able to do through this organization. The original child I sponsored grew up and is no longer part of the program, but around the same time she left the program, she had a daughter. I now sponsor my original sponsored child's daughter. Compassion International - In addition to helping children with their physical needs, this charity also teaches children about Jesus Christ. I think that is a great combination. Compassion International Wikipedia Entry
ChildFund International - formerly known as Christian Children's Fund, this organization does not actually spread the Gospel explicitly while helping children. Rather, the original name came from the founder who was a Christian minister and believed in the Christian values of helping the less fortunate. ChildFund International Wikipedia Entry
Save the Children - An organization for helping children that originated in the United Kingdom. Save the Children Wikipedia Entry
Food for the Hungry - This is another explicitly Christian organization. While I haven't sponsored a child through them, I have donated to them for disaster relief. Food for the Hungry Wikipedia Entry
World Vision - Yet another Christian relief organization. World Vision Wikipedia Entry
