This was written in 10th grade English class. We were to parody "Twas the Night Before Christmas". It's about daring to be ridiculously optimistic and hopeful.

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all was snow-covered.
Thoughts of the next day
In people's minds hovered.

They wondered what
Would come to be.
Peace to all?
All minds free?

They laughed at what
Their thoughts suggested,
Although it was
What they requested.

They shrugged it off
And went along,
Failing to hear
The Christmas song.

It plays right now,
Loud and clear,
And if you listen,
You will hear.

It vibrates melodies
Of joy and love
And voices blessings
From Heaven above.

It is pure bliss
That all can know
If they tell
Their own self so.
