Take a look
Inside my mind.
You'll see me
All pure and kind.

But beneath it all
Lurks troubles, great.
Poisons my soul,
Fills it with hate.

My life is all
The unkind things.
All the crap
That heartbreak brings.

Happiness
Does not belong.
I'm sad today.
I'll write a song.

The words are what
Will come to be.
A suicide song
In perfect key.

Let's sing it all
Together now,
Then make it true,
We all know how.

Oh, yes, that would be very nice
But things, they keep us here.
Wouldn't want my friends or family
To ever shed a tear.

The one way out is suicide, of course. I never truly considered that. It was just the way I sometimes chose to express how devastated I was over continually failing to date this girl. The song I refer to in this poem is an actual goofy little song I wrote.
